The Role

At Creators International School, we understand that the purpose of studying humanities and languages is key to understanding our past, our present and our future. We believe that by delving into the causes and effects of historical and cultural events, such as revolutions, wars, literature and inventions, students can develop critical thinking skills, a global perspective, and a deep knowledge and understanding of the intricacies of human society and culture.

We seek a visionary humanities and languages leader with an unwavering passion for developing innovative learning through nurturing technology, research and inquiry skills. We are looking for a leader to inspire and guide our students and teachers in humanities and languages, fostering a passion for learning, and expanding their knowledge and understanding. You will also be responsible for shaping a groundbreaking approach to learning, and for creating an engaging and dynamic department, in which staff and students feel empowered to develop their key skills, apply them effectively, and realise their dreams and aspirations. You will also nurture a spirit of entrepreneurism and creativity to enable our students to be the leaders and experts of tomorrow.

Key responsibilities

·       Inspiration: Be a charismatic leader who provides inspirational leadership for the department. Inspire students to pursue future leadership and expert careers with enthusiasm and confidence. Inspire teachers to develop exceptional pedagogical and caring skills.

·       Build a stellar team: Assemble and nurture a dream team of passionate educators who share your vision, dedication, and commitment to fostering the next generation of leaders and experts.

·       Innovative curriculum: Develop a comprehensive and unique programme that challenges and engages students, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

·       Subject Mastery: Bring extensive knowledge and experience in integrated humanities and languages, including a track record of success in competitive international examinations.

·       Management: Manage the departmental budget and resources effectively to ensure that the department operates seamlessly, allowing teachers to focus on learning and teaching, and enables students to excel in their learning journey.

·       Care: Nurture excellent pastoral care, safeguarding and maintain high expectations of effort and behaviour.

·       Professional Learning: Lead professional learning and regular staff training/meetings

Person Profile and Qualifications

·       Fluency in spoken and written English is essential.

·       Must have an EU passport or already have the right to work in Spain.

·       Bachelor´s degree plus a Master's degree or Doctorate in humanities and languages, covering at least two specialist fields – one from History, Geography, Economics, Business or similar field, and one from a languages related field.

·       Valid teaching qualification, EU-recognised preferred.

·       Strong leadership experience in international schools, with experience of implementing A-Level humanities courses, and including a track record of success in competitive international examinations.

·       Strong knowledge of, and experience of teaching, inquiry-based, interdisciplinary, project-based and research skills, and their application in real-world contexts.

·       Excellent leadership, communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.

·       Accomplished in using technology and digital tools to enhance learning and teaching.

·       Familiarity with current international education standards and best practices in humanities and languages education.

Creators International School

At Creators International School, we are on a mission to build a unique day and boarding school that pioneers science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) and entrepreneurship education.
