Job overview

Required for September 2023, we are seeking to appoint an experienced, committed and talented professional to provide outstanding leadership to the Humanities and PBL Department consisting of Geography, History, RE, Project Based Learning (PBL), Psychology and Sociology. The successful candidate will have responsibility for developing PBL delivery at KS3 as well as oversight of the other areas. 

You must be able to demonstrate the ability to effectively manage and develop our vision to deliver continued improvement, engage, motivate, support and enable others and the commitment to promote a happy, safe and inclusive environment, ensuring that every child achieves their full potential. 

An ability to teach RE is desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate will ensure the collaborative working of teams within the department, effectively managing staff and resources, making use of common practices and strength’s.

Kingsmeadow Community Comprehensive School is a mixed, non-denominational community secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-18. The school is operated by Gateshead Council, and has about 950 pupils. It is located in Dunston in the north east of England.
