Job overview

Required, for September 2017 a Teacher of or Head of Humanities to work within KS3&4. The post holder will have the opportunity to take on responsibility for the school development of Humanities and teach within KS3 & KS4.

EBIS are looking for hardworking, enthusiastic and creative teachers with outstanding subject knowledge and well rounded classroom skills.  It is expected that teachers have a good understanding of the National Curriculum and are up to date with current developments in both their subjects and in teaching and learning. Teachers are expected to adapt their teaching to second-language learners.

It is preferred for applicants to hold a recognised teaching qualification however candidates that have taught (perhaps internationally) within the specific age groups but who do not have a formal teaching qualification will also be considered.

EBIS welcomes applications from specialists looking for their first step into management and experienced teachers alike. There is a comprehensive support structure in place including regular Extended Management Team meetings, Key Stage meetings and Key Stage specific specialist staff meetings.

There is potential for two appointments to the Humanities Department. Both Geography and History are taught in KS3 and both subjects are offered as options within KS4. Applications from newly qualified teachers are welcomed.
