LOCATION: Thorns Collegiate Academy

SALARY: TMS/UPS + TLR 1.1 £9,272 per annum

As a teacher of Literacy for Life you will have the opportunity to teach your specialist subject and be part of the L4L Team.

Key Responsibilities:

• To lead the successful delivery of Humanities across the academy.
• Operational lead of History and RE.
• Teach students a Humanities subject in Key Stage 4 and a range of subjects through a thematic curriculum in Key Stage 3 (L4L).
• To inspire and enthuse members of the team, with a clear vision for the future direction of all Humanities subjects.
• To develop, plan and deliver effective and high-quality learning experiences for all students they teach.
• Be accountable for the learning and achievement of all students they teach.
• To liaise with teaching colleagues across the Academy to support strategic development, share good practice and plan collaborative activities.
• To take the lead for their specialist subject area within the L4L curriculum.

• Be a consistently good/outstanding teacher
• Be an exceptional classroom practitioner with high expectations of both learning and behaviour
• Able to inspire, motivate and enthuse students
• Committed to raising standards for all and share the same drive to constantly learn and improve
• Show willingness to lead initiatives and show evidence of impact.
• Demonstrate a passion to make a difference to others
• To be proficient with the use of technology for learning and have a willingness to innovate.
