KISU is warm, vibrant, forward-looking and truly international school in Kampala, Uganda. We are CIS/NEASC accredited and an IB World School with 500 students aged 2 to 18 years from 58 countries. We offer the English National Curriculum, IGCSE’s and the IB Diploma Programme. We are blessed with great students, committed teachers and a beautiful, well-appointed campus, located close to the centre of the city.
We are seeking an excellent Head of Humanities to start in August 2019.
The Humanities faculty encompasses teaching in History, Geography, Business Studies and Global Perspectives and is currently a team of 4 full-time colleagues supported by some part-time contributors from other subjects. The Global Perspectives IGCSE course is an important (and compulsory) part of how we prepare our students for the IB Diploma and so experience of this and, ideally, the Geography IGCSE course, would be ideal. That said, if we come across a strong candidate who has a different expertise in the Humanities area but is flexible and enthusiastic and we judge likely to provide effective leadership in the role then we will certainly consider him/her seriously. If you would relish the opportunity to work with great students and teachers in a school with undeniable forward momentum, then we would love to hear from you. Please do take a look at our website (www.kisu.com) to learn a little more about us.
Uganda is a very beautiful country with a reputation for economic and political stability and for welcoming visitors and Kampala makes an excellent base from which to explore the wonders of the region from the Mountain Gorillas of western Uganda to the historic treasures of Zanzibar.
