Brimsham Green School is seeking to appoint, from January 2020 an outstanding Head of Digital Literacy and Computing, who has a track record of raising attainment, and will continue to enhance our broad and balanced curriculum. Whether you are presently a Head of Department or are looking for your first middle leadership role, you will have excellent organisation and communication skills and a demonstrable commitment to inclusive, comprehensive education. The successful candidate will lead the development of Digital Literacy and Computing across Key Stages 3-5, and make a significant contribution to extracurricular opportunities that enrich the curriculum. This post carries a TLR1 of £7,853.
Brimsham Green School was inspected by Ofsted in May and was judged to be ‘Good’ in all areas. Ofsted recognised that middle leaders at Brimsham Green School are a “cohesive team who support and challenge each other”. In addition Ofsted noted that leaders are “resolute in their ambition to improve standards but are mindful of staff’s well-being so that they can fulfil their roles effectively”. Ofsted commented that our students’ behaviour is good and that the learning environment is “positive and conducive to learning”.

You would be leading and managing a team of experienced teachers who are all dedicated to equipping students with the skills and knowledge to prepare them for the next stages in their education, be it university, apprenticeship or careers with one of our prestigious local employers. The team is driven to ensure our students receive a well-rounded education and the curriculum is enhanced with extra-curricular activities. Uptake in IT related subjects at KS4 and KS5 is very strong, an indicator of the engagement in the learning instilled in students in KS3.
At KS3 all students are taught Digital Literacy & Computing (DLC). Creative iMedia and Computer Science are popular subjects at Brimsham Green School and the successful candidate will teach both GCSE Computing and Cambridge National Creative iMedia at Key Stage 4.
Experience of teaching post-16 Level 2 and Level 3 ICT courses is essential; we currently offer both Level 2 and Level 3 OCR Cambridge Technicals in IT.
