All year round 

Permanent, full time (37 hours week) to start as soon as possible

Salary:  VT Pay Scale 13-14, SP42 –SP49 (£38,052.12- £44,697.42 per annum) dependent upon qualifications and experience plus Health Cash Plan and Benefit package (see website for full details of the Trust employee benefit package).

Requirement to travel between all Trust schools and 3rd party partners where required.

We are delighted to announce the permanent opportunity for this Head of ICT post to join the executive leadership team, to work at the Trust Central Offices and all Trust academies, with a committed team of professionals.  

Venturers Trust is a new Multi Academy Trust based in Bristol formed through the merger of CGS Trust and Merchants’ Academy Trust in September 2017. Comprising Primary, Secondary, all-age schools and a Special school the Trust has 3,200 pupils and 750 staff. The Trust is sponsored by the Society of Merchant Venturers and the University of Bristol.  Both sponsors seek to ensure that all our young people receive a truly inspiring education. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic confident individual to be part of this developing independent charity organisation. Leading the way for the company’s digital transformation by managing their existing IT arrangements and future developments.

Working with the Executive Leadership Team you will provide effective development for the usage and innovation of ICT services, support and infrastructure across the Trust.  This role will directly involve leading the operational delivery of a Trust-wide integrated ICT strategy, which underpins transformation, value for money, service delivery and business objectives.

Contributing to the strategic vision through appropriate use and application of technology, you will review and refine the needs of all internal and external customers in order to ensure all employees have the necessary skills required for utilising existing and future ICT systems.

You will have a proven track record of leading and motivating staff in an IT environment, and initiating and leading ICT development and change. The successful individual will have a key role to play in supporting the Trust’s strategic direction.  This role will deliver innovative, effective, efficient ICT systems and applications that enhances learning and ensures effective classroom learning, improved management and administration. The role focuses on both education support and business systems and services and will include hands-on duties such as hardware and software support in a Microsoft based environment as well as team and project management, developing ICT strategy and budgets.
