Job overview

This is a new Head of Service position on the senior leadership team of the Education and Skills Directorate. The key focus will be to embed inclusive practices and an inclusive educational culture across all educational settings in West Sussex. You will head up a new team to bring a greater focus and visibility to the commitment to Inclusion and will work with range of internal and external teams and partners to drive system-wide behaviour change. Through this role you will bring together existing specialist resources and create new ones to help build capacity and capability across the whole system. This will mean embracing a range of educational opportunities to meet the learning needs of all children and young people, including alternative provisions. This position calls for someone with vision and drive. You will need to be a highly experienced educational professional who can work collaboratively to effect behaviour change, with a proven track record in teaching and learning that includes demonstrable success in addressing Inclusion.
