Bradford Grammar School believes in providing every opportunity for its Junior and Senior pupils to embrace academic, sporting and creative excellence within an aspirational, caring environment, in which happiness is the key to success.

Located in a cosmopolitan urban setting but drawing equal numbers of pupils from the attractive and established suburbs of West Yorkshire and the lower Dales, the School is a flagship for independent education in the North with notable sporting alumni including Alastair and Jonny Brownlee, Adrian Moorhouse and Charlie Hodgson. Above all, BGS is a happy school and a rewarding place to work.

Bradford Grammar School is seeking a hugely talented, experienced IT qualified person to lead the IT team that provides wide ranging essential services to teachers, support staff and pupils alike. As Head of Information Technology your role will be extremely varied, ranging from, for example, ensuring that your colleagues in the IT team deliver a daily responsive, accurate and technically first class service to all users (with you capable of also being technically hands on as and when necessary), to dealing with members of the Senior Leadership team in developing a new ICT Strategy of which a Digital Education Strategy will be a key part, to ensuring the security of all the School’s systems, to budget management and effective procurement.

The successful individual will already have line management experience, will be adaptable to and responsive to the fast moving pace of the IT challenges that arise on a daily basis at this busy 1,000 pupil independent day school and will be a person who can relate to people at all levels. The person should have a desire for continuing professional education and must be forward thinking, yet realistic, in their ICT ambition for the school.

The role reports to the Bursar but will have frequent contact with varied personnel across the whole School.
