Job overview
The Post
We are looking to appoint a Head of IT and Computing at Ashfold School for September 2020. The successful candidate will be genuinely passionate about their subject and be able to inspire and instil a love of Computing in the children through their teaching. Alongside teaching commitments, they will be a key stakeholder in the School’s IT Development Plan, lead the School’s digital strategy, be responsible for the technical aspects of the School’s communications systems and have oversight of the third-party supplier.
The successful candidate must be an experienced Computing teacher and have effective knowledge of a comprehensive range of systems administration packages. An ambitious visionary, they will naturally possess outstanding technical, teaching and communication skills, demonstrate excellent administrative and organisational abilities, and be able to foster positive relationships with external agencies, the children, staff and wider school community.
The School
Ashfold is an established co-educational Preparatory School for around 280 children aged 3 - 13, set in a beautiful Jacobean mansion with its own thirty-acre estate in the heart of the Buckinghamshire countryside, just thirty minutes from Oxford.
The school has expanded significantly over the last fifteen years and invested heavily in its infrastructure and support systems. We aim to give every child the firmest possible grounding in the core academic subjects, within a small, caring family community where children know both each other and all of the staff.
