Key Duties:

  • Lead learning through curriculum design, classroom pedagogy, assessment and reporting to improve student learning outcomes
  • Responsible for a part-time teaching load
  • Responsible for both Modern and Classical languages
  • Align the learning environment with the educational philosophy and ethos of the college
  • Develop a deep understanding of, and advance the college vision for, personalised learning within the context of languages
  • Lead the development, engagement and performance of staff within the department
  • Engage with professional colleagues to advance student learning across the curriculum

Our client school is located in the leafy inner suburb of Canberra, in the state of Australian Capital Territory in Australia. This prestige residential location offers picturesque walking trails, for those that enjoy an outdoor lifestyle. The school provides students and their families with easy access to the airport, road and rail transportation.

 In order to be considered for this role, you will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Possess the minimum relevant tertiary qualifications– Bachelor of Education/ PGCE / or equivalent teaching degree
  • Be eligible to work in Australia (must have valid visa)
  • Have experience in a similar leadership capacity
  • Have experience teaching languages to senior levels with a high academic success
  • The ability to teach French is desirable
  • Experience in delivering the International Baccalaureate curriculum is desirable
  • Be willing to contribute to co-curricular life
  • Demonstrate dedication to student academic, pastoral and social welfare
  • Be registered or be eligible for the NSW Board of Studies Teaching and Educational Standards (BOSTES) Institution
  • Be registered or be eligible for the Working With Children Check registration (WWCC)
  • Be able to provide a minimum of three professional references
