The Mossbourne Federation is actively seeking to increase the proportion of our workforce who come from diverse backgrounds. We particularly welcome applications from people of Black, Asian and other minority ethnic descent.

Injustice, discrimination and intolerance go against the core tenets of the Mossbourne ethos. We actively reject discrimination in our academies through continuous review of our working policies & practices across the federation, including at board level.

We are committed to developing and supporting inclusivity, diversity & anti-racism in every facet of what we do.

We are seeking an outstanding leader and Maths practitioner who is ready to join the Extended Leadership Team and lead one of the most diverse learning areas in the academy. The Maths Learning Area is known for its collaborative and friendly staff who are at the forefront of teaching and learning within the Academy. You will be responsible for overseeing 18 members of staff with a range of experience. Over 200 year 11 students sit their maths GCSE at Mossbourne every year. Maths is the most popular A level choice at the Mossbourne Sixth Form with approximately 100 students in each year group choosing to study it. The department also offers Further Maths A Level, which is a popular choice. We are looking for someone with the vision, grit and academic acumen to support and develop the Learning Area’s success. We would encourage applications from teachers with experience leading a maths department as well as middle leaders who are looking to make the step up to their first head of department role. The ability to teach Maths at Key Stage 5 is an advantage but not a pre-requisite.
