Job overview

In Leeds we have ambition; we want to be the best city in the UK for children to grow up in – a child friendly city.

A key part of this ambition is our commitment to improving outcomes for all our children and young people, particularly those who are vulnerable, so they are able to contribute to and benefit from the growth of our vibrant and compassionate city. We want all our young people to do well in their learning and have access to a wide range of opportunities to help them develop key life skills and reach their potential.

As Head of Learning Improvement, you will work closely with school leaders and colleagues to raise aspirations, improve standards and focus on closing the gap in attainment between our more and less advantaged learners.

If you’re as passionate about high-achieving, inclusive education and learning as we are and want to make a positive difference for children and young people in Leeds, please get in touch. You’ll need to have significant education leadership experience, preferably at headship level, in a local authority or multi academy trust, plus a proven ability to lead and implement strategies for school improvement.

The closing date for applications is Friday 23rd November and interviews will be held week commencing 3rd December 2018.

For information about the priorities that guide our work with children, young people and families in Leeds please see the Leeds Children and Young People’s Plan. You can find out more about Child Friendly Leeds on our website. For any further information please contact Alex Watson on 07891 276514.
