A passionate and highly-committed individual is required to join one of the most successful and forward-looking independent preparatory schools in the South West, awarded Excellent in all categories in a recent ISI Inspection (March 2020).  Teaching and learning is at the centre of all we do.

This is a part-time (0.4 FTE) permanent opportunity for the right person to join our outstanding and committed staff team from the start of next academic year as Head of Learning Success / SENCO.  The hours will be spread over four days and the successful candidate will lead the day-to-day provision of support for pupils with special educational needs, providing specialist guidance in order secure high quality teaching and the effective use of resources., They will also be required to teach an Upper Key Stage 2 Maths or English set.

We are seeking a qualified teacher with experience of teaching children up to Year 6 (and ideally up Year 8), and who either holds the National Award for SEN Coordination or who has completed a range of professional development in SEN.  We are ideally looking for someone with a proven track record as a SENCO and with excellent knowledge and understanding of the SEN Code of Practice.

A salary of up to £15,246 (£38,115 pro rata) is available for the right candidate.

About St Peter's Preparatory School

St Peter’s School is an independent preparatory day and weekly boarding school for around 290 girls and boys between the ages of 3 and 13. Set in 28 beautiful acres overlooking the Exe Estuary, we offer a full and broad curriculum right from the start.  We pride ourselves on our excellent pastoral care, experienced and committed teaching staff and small class sizes.

St Peter’s operates five bus services covering Exeter, East Devon and The Teign Valley.  We use our own 9-seater Tourneos and 17-seater vehicles and they are driven by St Peter’s employees.
