Wetherby Kensington is currently looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Head of Learning Support. The successful candidate will be a fully qualified teacher and will lead the learning support department in a new school.  

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified, imaginative and driven learning support teacher who works with equal efficacy both independently and as part of a team. Applicants will join an innovative, forward-thinking and committed team. They will need to interact and support children in a positive way to foster their enthusiasm for learning.

 Experience of teaching pupils with special educational needs is essential. Candidates must have a minimum of two years teaching experience with SEN pupils and must be a fully qualified teacher. OCR Level 5 or the equivalent is essential and must be an excellent learning support practioner.  

Wetherby Kensington will be a two form, non-selective, pre-preparatory school for boys from Reception to Year 3. It will follow exactly the same curriculum and share the same values and ethos as Wetherby School and will be an integral part of the Wetherby Group of schools. Boys at Wetherby Kensington will receive very high levels of academic education and pastoral care. Wetherby Kensington is part of the Alpha Plus Group of schools, which is one of the country's leading educational groups.  

Wetherby Kensington is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance along with other relevant pre-employment checks.  

The Alpha Plus Group has its own salary scale, which is above the Central London Maintained Scale. A salary at the appropriate point on the Teachers’ Scale will be offered to the successful candidate and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
