Job overview

An exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and energetic SENCO to lead the learning support provision in the Prep School. This is a key appointment and the successful candidate will assist us in ensuring all children learn as effectively as possible at all times.

Ashford School has Teaching School status and achieved outstanding and excellent in all aspects of our latest inspection, including the EYFS.

Ashford School is a highly successful independent school with extensive partnerships across primary and secondary state schools. We are growing and are always seeking innovative ways of extending our pupils and staff. As one of the few National Teaching Schools from the independent sector we are busily engaged in developing the teachers and leaders of the future.  The school was judged outstanding/excellent in all aspects of our most recent inspection, including across our extensive Early Years setting.

The Prep School has benefited from a multi-million pound building project providing 18 classrooms, libraries, playgrounds, hall space, car parks and kitchens which have added to our other existing superb facilities, and is set in beautiful rural surroundings. Most recently, we completed the development of 25 acres of high quality playing fields and our own full-size, floodlit artificial pitch. More development is to follow shortly including a new nursery and sports pavilion.

The Prep School is an integral part of Ashford School with most pupils transferring to the Senior School at the end of Year 6. Ashford Prep and Senior Schools share the same values and ethos, and operate as a single institution with autonomous sections of which the Prep School is one.

Ashford School is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and all applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening, including checks with past employers and the DBS.

Ashford School is a member of United Learning Registered Charity No. 1016358
