At Uppingham, we believe each of our pupils deserves to be given the best possible support to get the most from their education. To make this happen, we need a Head of Learning Support to play a key role ensuring students benefit from our excellent Learning Support service.
The Learning Support department consists of the Head of Learning Support and five
specialist teachers. All teachers support pupils across the subject and age range, employing their specialist subjects when necessary. Communication between the Learning Support department and the teaching staff is excellent, helped by a number of specific ‘link teachers’ in academic departments.
As Head of Learning Support, you will be responsible for the leadership and management of all aspects of learning support, guiding the work of teachers in the department and liaising with heads of departments, teachers, Housemasters/Housemistresses and parents, setting clear standards for successful interventions with pupils.
You will contribute to the training and induction of teachers joining the School, support the Registry with the admission of prospective pupils and also have a teaching timetable of pupils across the 13-18 age range.

A PGCE or equivalent qualification is essential. A Specific Learning Difficulties Diploma or equivalent Level 5 is essential, along with a track record of excellent teaching.
