We are currently seeking to recruit for September 2020 a highly motivated and inspiring Head of Learning Support to join The Mount School York .

The role is to lead and oversee the provision of SEND across the whole School to ensure high quality teaching and intervention, together with the effective use of resources, ensuring strong outcomes for our pupils with SEND.

The successful candidate must be an experienced teacher of pupils with SEND and hold a post-graduate qualification in individual specialist assessment or equivalent to Level 7. Currently the School uses the Dyslexic Action Literacy Programme (DALP), therefore a Dyslexia Action postgraduate certificate is required. Experience of working with pupils with a range of additional needs including; autism, attachment disorder, ADHD as well as a knowledge of the SEND agenda is essential.

The Mount School York is a high achieving day and boarding community set in 16 acres of beautiful grounds located ten minutes’ walk from York’s historic city centre. They also noted on the ‘ethos of tolerance and care for others found throughout the School’, an ethos permeating form our Quaker Heritage.

Our bespoke and engaging curriculum is tailored to motivate and enthuse girls from Early Years to Sixth Form. Girls are given a strong foundation of knowledge and a variety of learning. Within our inspiring all-girls community each girl develops to her full potential. Pupils learn to think independently, and discover their passions, leaving them ready to make a positive contribution to our changing world.
