Job overview
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, committed and reflective practitioner as Head of Literacy and English teacher from September 2021. We are looking for a teacher who shares the vision and ethos of the school and who wants to have a positive impact on the life of every student they teach.
The role will involve developing students’ vocabulary, oracy skills and reading, as well as embedding a reading culture throughout the curriculum and across the school

Situated in Gwersyllt, Wrexham, Ysgol Bryn Alyn is a community secondary day school for children between the ages of 11 and 16. It educates around 702 girls and boys at present. Students come from primarily seven local primary schools. This includes Gwersyllt Junior, Ysgol Heulfan, St. Mary’s, New Broughton, Brymbo, Tanyfron C.P., Black Lane C.P, Pentre Broughton and Brynteg C.P. School. Students are taught through the medium of English.
Over the past 10 years the site has been modernised with the building of a new Science block. September 2017 saw the opening of a brand new teaching and reception area in line with the 21st Century Schools programme.

Ysgol Bryn Alyn values pupils who care for others and teachers who nurture the students. The teachers should know the abilities of each child at the school.
