Job overview

ABOUT THE SCHOOL

Dulwich Prep Cranbrook is an independent day and flexible boarding school for girls and boys aged 3-13 years, nestled in the beautiful Kent countryside approximately an hour out of London.

We are a forward-thinking, passionate teaching community, enabling our children to make the absolute most of our stunning 50 acres of grounds, thoughtfully designed modern classrooms and superb facilities. Together with our parents, we have created a vibrant and compassionate community where our children happily thrive, reveal their inner talents and excel academically.

Our School is split in to 3 areas; Nash House (Nursery & Reception), Little Stream (Years 1 – 4) and Upper School (Years 5 – 8).

ABOUT THE ROLE

Little Stream is a very special place where we teach our Year 1 to 4 children. We kindle curiosity, encourage inquiry and capture imaginations, giving our children a life-long love of learning in all its forms. As well as gently priming their minds for the future we also encourage all our children to be compassionate and support each other, so they have the confidence to take risks, embrace opportunity and enjoy their journey of self-discovery.

Our current Head of Little Stream (and member of the Senior Management Team) will retire at the end of this academic year and we are seeking to appoint an exceptional individual with proven leadership skills to this hugely rewarding role from September 2018.

You will be responsible for the academic achievement, care and nurture of approximately 170 children, supporting their transition from Nash House through to Upper School. You will also be the inspirational leader for 27 Little Stream staff, ensuring their continued success and enabling them to build on our School’s excellent reputation. You will have a good degree of autonomy yet benefit from the support of the Headmaster and Senior Management Team.

In addition to your high-quality teaching skills, you will have exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, other schools and organisations.

Your expertise in creating a positive, encouraging and stimulating learning environment, reflecting a strong commitment to the personal and academic growth of the children, will ensure your own and Little Stream’s continued success.

Closing date: Friday 27th October 2017.

Interview date: w/c 13th November 2017.
