Job overview

We are looking for a dynamic music teacher to plan and teach whole class music from Nursery to Year 2 (aged 3 to 7). The ability to play the piano to a high standard (Grade 8) is essential in order to accompany children in assemblies, concerts and productions.

The standard of music at the school is very high with children learning musical instruments from Year 1, taught by peripatetic teachers. As part of this role there will also be the opportunity to support the Upper School orchestra and ensembles.

Prospect House is an independent school in Putney for children aged 3 to 11; it is heavily oversubscribed and enjoys an excellent local reputation.

We are looking for someone with high expectations who will enjoy working in a well-resourced school with a strong team of supportive colleagues.

The post is available from September 2017 and is full time, although a part-time contract of four days a week is also possible.

About Prospect House School

Prospect House School is a non-denominational, non-selective, co-educational, independent day school for children aged 3-11. It is situated in Putney, West London. There are currently 300 pupils at the school.

A member of the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools, Prospect House opened its doors in 1991. It is located on two sites. The Lower School accommodates children aged 3-7. The Upper School is for pupils aged 7-11 and is a five-minute walk away. Both schools are set in large grounds with spacious playgrounds. The Upper School has the additional resource of an all-weather sports area.
