International School Partnership

The International Schools Partnership is an ever-growing global family of schools where the child's learning is at the core of everything we do.

At the International Schools Partnership, we share the passion you hold to help children grow and learn, to be able to contribute to the world in which they will soon find their place. Your child will be inspired to be curious and creative, as we equip them with the abilities they will need to nourish such talents. At an ISP school your child will also develop key skills and build confidence. These are the key stepping stones which will allow them to thrive in their future and far beyond any classroom.

The School: Reach British School, Abu Dhabi

Reach British School is in its third year and has doubled in both student and teacher population with over 1250 students from 3 to 14 years of age. The school currently goes to Year 9 and will increase by a Year Group each year to the point at which we will be able to offer education for children of all ages from nursery to Sixth Form.  Our curriculum and assessment are structured around the English National Curriculum and the variety of (I)GCSE and A Level options are currently being considered as we prepare for the beginning of Key Stage 4 in September 2017.

The school building is designed for 21st Century learning with modern science laboratories, art rooms, ICT suites and spacious classrooms. The teachers are committed, dedicated, hard-working and aim to inspire children so they can go on to further education at colleges and universities around the world.

The school currently has over 40 nationalities made up of Emirati and Expats living in Abu Dhabi. The school firmly believes that the international mix of students prepares them for their lives ahead. They become confident speakers, in more than one language, they are competitive, aware of their environment and globally aware of the world.

The medium of teaching is English throughout with the prerequisite lessons in Arabic for both Arabic and non-Arabic first language speakers.

The Post:
Head of Mathematics

We are looking for an outstanding Head of Mathematics to join our school from January 2017.

Applicants will be fully qualified teachers with a strong background in developing students’ grasp of mathematical concepts and constructs, as well as leading a team of Mathematics teachers across the Secondary Years.  We teach along English National Curriculum lines and are about to choose (I)GCSE Examination Boards for September 2017, hence our desire to appoint a Head of Mathematics for the start of the New Year.

Furthermore, as we are an all-through school, we are seeking someone who will relish the opportunity to work with Primary Years colleagues to smooth the development of Maths learning across the full 3-18 age range.

The current team of four teachers in the Secondary Years will naturally grow as we add Key Stages 4 and 5 to our student cohort and the opportunity to develop into a more Senior role is also open to the right candidate.  In particular we are looking for someone with interests and aptitudes in timetabling, examination entry and assessment, in order to further build our management capacity.

What we offer:

  • State of the art facilities within a new campus
  • Opportunity to work within a team of highly supportive and creative colleagues
  • Excellent professional development and guidance
  • A school committed to doing the best for each and every one of its students

To be considered for this post you must hold a BEd, degree and PGCE or equivalent, as well as at least five years’ experience as a teacher, during some of which you have carried a teaching and/or management responsibility.

An excellent remuneration package is on offer to the successful candidate including competitive tax free salary, furnished accommodation, medical insurance, visa costs, baggage allowance, annual flight allowance and free school places for up to two dependents.

Application Process

If you meet these criteria, are enthusiastic about teaching and learning and have the drive and passion to get the most from our students then we would welcome your application.

Please send an email to the Principal of the Reach British School including an up to date CV, formal letter of application and recent photograph.

Reach British School was founded in 2014 and aims to offer an outstanding British-style education to children in the local community. The school currently has over 1,000 students and will grow to a capacity of 2,100. The students come from 44 different nationalities although the majority, about 70%, are local Emirati children or from other Arabic countries.

The school follows the British national curriculum.  The School’s mission is to offer a meaningful education for students from different cultures and origins and to equip them with the knowledge and skills for a successful future after they leave school. Their learning must be both relevant and purposeful. Besides acquiring literacy and numeracy skills and competence with ICT,

Reach British School also endeavours to provide a holistic education to students, so that they grow into confident, caring and contributing citizens. They must also understand the vital need to make our world a sustainable place to live. Reach British School recognises that the world is a competitive place and only an understanding of the competition ahead will give the students the ability to fulfill their potential for success.

The students will largely be drawn from families in the local community who desire an international education for their children.    The school will be a high quality, purpose built facility designed in sections to accommodate early years provision, primary and secondary.

We are seeking to appoint motivated, highly skilled, enthusiastic and dedicated teachers who would work alongside, develop and support a multi-cultural staff team in our continued pursuit of excellence.

We are seeking teachers who have at least two years of teaching experience who have a BA and PGCE or a BEd in primary education. English language acquisition and early literacy development are key to our success and experience in this would be an advantage.

Reach British School is owned and operated by International Schools Partnership, an ever-growing global family of schools where the child's learning is at the core of everything we do. Our schools are located around the globe with more outstanding centres of educational excellence joining our partnership all the time. We currently have 15 partner schools with around 13,000 children from 3-18 years of age studying in the United Kingdom, Spain, Mexico and the Middle East.
