About the School

Wisbech Free School is a new 11-16 600-student (120 PAN) secondary school set to open for students in September 2024 to help meet growing demand for school places in Wisbech, North Cambridgeshire. The ‘Wisbech Free School’ was approved to open by the Department for Education in 2021 and will become the 12th school to join Brooke Weston Trust. The Trust has a close relationship with the local community and already runs the other secondary school, Thomas Clarkson Academy, and Peckover Primary School, in the town.

The school is due to open in its Phase One modular building to provide additional capacity for 90 students in September 2024. The Phase One building will be located off Weasenham Lane, immediately next to where the permanent new school building will be created. The new school will also be located next door to the existing Thomas Clarkson Academy campus, allowing the schools to share capacity and facilities to provide better opportunities for students and staff now and in the future.

Students and staff are expected to move into the new building in during the 2026/2027 academic year, subject to planning, where it will grow into a 120 PAN school.
