Job overview

Head of Mathematics

Salary - MPS + TLR1b

Full Time, Permanent

Required for September 2020

We are seeking to appoint an ambitious and inspirational Head of Maths to lead a highly-committed team at Rednock School.

You will be an excellent classroom practitioner with the ability to inspire students and model excellence in teaching and learning. As a team player, you will support and challenge colleagues to excel.

This would be an ideal role for either an experienced Head of Department, or someone seeking to progress their career.  This is a key appointment for Rednock School, and an exciting opportunity to motivate, inspire and further develop good practice.

You will be passionate about Maths, with strong leadership skills and high expectations for every one of our students.  The post will require the successful candidate to teach Maths across the key stages, including A-Level, therefore an understanding of curriculum change and new qualifications is essential.

In return, we can offer you enthusiastic students, superb facilities and excellent opportunities for career development.  The most recent Ofsted inspection, January 2018, judged that Rednock School continues to be a ‘good’ school.  It offers excellent C.P.D. for all staff, as well as a bespoke induction programme for new staff.

Rednock School is a rural 11-18 comprehensive, with excellent road links and spectacular views over rolling hills.

The post is full-time and permanent and will start in September 2020.

Closing date for applications is 8:00am Monday 2nd March 2020, and interviews will be held shortly after the closing date.

We may interview suitable candidates throughout the advertised period and reserve the right to close the vacancy early and appoint before the deadline if we receive sufficient applications.  You are encouraged to apply without delay, and we are looking forward to hearing from you!

Please complete an application form and write a covering letter, of no more than three sides of A4, outlining how your qualities and experiences have prepared you for this role.

Further details about the school and Maths department are available in the job specific documents, or on our website www.rednockschool.org.uk
