We are seeking an inspirational, dynamic, and well qualified individual to lead the thriving Mathematics Department in our academically selective boarding school.

The candidate will be able to teach Maths to all levels, including Oxbridge, and be passionate about inspiring a love and understanding of Maths in young people. This is a wonderful opportunity to teach Maths to motivated, high-achieving students in a beautiful, aspirational, and nurturing environment and to lead an experienced, forward-thinking department.

Our progressive enquiry-based learning approach, to education and opportunities to teach and learn beyond specifications, provide a wonderful working environment. A new Head of Mathematics will have opportunities to shape the curriculum and inspire young people to expand their numeracy and problem-solving skills.

Benenden is one of the leading boarding schools in Britain. We were founded in 1923 and are situated in 250 acres of attractive parkland in Kent. There are 550 girls in the school, aged 11-18, with 190 of those in the Sixth Form. Benenden is at the forefront of girls’ education in the UK, with recent innovations including the Benenden Diploma, a bespoke curriculum for our youngest two year groups, and the Professional Skills Programme, teaching the Sixth Form skills for the workplace. We are an ambitious school, with recent developments including a state-of-the-art Science Centre and All-Weather Sports Pitch, and the newly established Centenary Hall and Sir David K.P. Li Music School.
