Corfe Hills School is in a fabulous location within easy reach of Bournemouth and its beaches, Poole and its harbour, the Jurassic Coast and the Dorset countryside. The school serves the catchment area of Broadstone, Corfe Mullen and the wider area and we truly believe that all of our students are exceptional. The school was most recently graded by OFSTED as “requires improvement” and accepts that there are changes that need to be made to ensure all students reach their fullest potential. The newly formed leadership team and wider staff body are all extremely passionate about ensuring that all students “learn to the max” every lesson and that leaders within the school are empowered to implement changes to ensure that this is the case. The school is embracing this period of change and welcome the challenge that OFSTED have set us. These circumstances require a dynamic and creative approach from all leaders within the school to ensure that rapid improvements are made.
We are excitedly seeking an enthusiastic, well qualified and ambitious person to lead mathematics across the full ability range at Corfe Hills School whilst providing strategic leadership and support to Year 7 & 8 maths at Broadstone Middle School. The ability to teach to GCSE is required and teaching at AS/A2 level is desirable. As a classroom practitioner you would need to demonstrate exceptional classroom practice and be able to motivate and inspire students through mathematics. This will involve 100% commitment to our vision, captured in our strapline “High Expectations | Exceptional Individuals”.
This is an exciting opportunity and is especially attractive to someone who is keen to develop their leadership potential with the unique chance of having exposure to leading a subject across two schools. The successful candidate would also form part of the extended leadership team and must be someone who has the passion and drive to ensure that the leadership of mathematics enables all students to achieve their very best whilst developing a love of the subject. The successful candidate would be joining a highly successful department that has achieved consistently good and improving results at KS4 and KS5.
The school prides itself on providing individualised CPD opportunities and has a commitment to developing leadership practice as well as pedagogy.
We would be delighted to discuss this role further and welcome informal visits to the school.
To arrange a visit or for further details please contact Kayleigh Burgess, Heads PA, headspa@corfehills.net.
Application forms can be obtained from the school’s website www.corfehills.net or can be completed via TES.
