About Taipei European School

The TES Community

With an enrolment of over 1,300 students from around 800 international families, a staff of 220 teachers and support personnel, and operations across two campuses, Taipei European School requires a professional, integrated organisational structure for the efficient leadership and management of the school.

Governance

As with many educational organisations, TES makes a distinction between governance , involving matters of policy, strategic and longer term planning, and management , which is focused on the day-to-day implementation and supervision of the operations of the school.

TES Board of Directors (TESBOD):

The Taipei European School is registered as a legal entity in the form of a non-profit Foundation supervised by the Bureau of Education within Taipei City Government. The executive body of the TES Foundation is the TES Board of Directors (TESBOD) which consists of nine members. Six of these members (including the Chairman) are required to be nationals of the Republic of China and this Board meets approximately three or four times a year. The main function of TESBOD is to supervise the actions of the school as the ultimate legally responsible body, and is required, therefore, to approve strategic plans, significant developments and annual budgets.

The mission of the Taipei European School is to provide educational excellence and European culture and values within the context of Taiwanese society.

We aim to become the school of choice for parents and children, teachers and other staff.
We aim at providing a high standard of education to international students:
(currently) through British, French and German curricula for 3-14 year olds and through a common senior school for 14-18 year olds, using mainly the English medium as a foundation for higher education and training.
