The Governors of Holy Trinity Academy are looking to appoint a Head of Maths to develop the leadership and management of the Maths department of this vibrant new school.  As a Teaching and Learning leader you will be a key part of the exciting journey of this department and the school in meeting the current and future needs of our students and to help build upon the excellent results achieved in 2015 – 16.

The Co-Ecumenical Academy has a clear vision on its journey to place Holy Trinity as a beacon of educational excellence and have the Gospel values at the heart of the community it serves. Every detail of Holy Trinity’s distinctive character has been directed towards promoting the culture and vision of a Christ-centred community focused on the experience of ‘life in all its fullness’ for each individual.

The successful applicant will be an inspirational, creative and outstanding teacher with a passion for Maths. They will be committed to their own development and that of their department, and will have a track record of achieving excellent results and improving student outcomes. The successful candidate will be passionate about ensuring that the Maths department continues to deliver high quality teaching consistently in all lessons.

Contract: (Full - time, permanent)
Salary: MPS/UPS + TLR 1 (£7,620) negotiable
Start Date: September 2017 (or sooner if possible)

The Maths team are forward thinking and committed to engaging and enthusing students. You will be part of a dedicated team who aim to develop life-long learning habits through motivation. We aim to inspire and equip students to achieve their potential by enhancing students' confidence and achievement in this subject.  
The department follows the EDEXCEL syllabus for GCSE Maths and Sixth Form students study Maths at AS and A2 Level and has a proven track record of very high standards.  The Maths team helped contribute to the excellent results in 2015 – 16 where the school achieved +0.44 for the Progress 8 measure.

The department is well-resourced and each member of staff has their own teaching room and staff are supplied with their own laptop and I-pad. The department has a proven track record of good results and the successful applicant will be encouraged to optimise their skills and experience to add to this drive. All staff are fully supported to grow through regular CPD opportunities which focus upon delivering the best outcomes within the classroom and inspire students to become leaders of the future.

Holy Trinity Academy is a mixed, non-selective, Church of England and Roman Catholic secondary school with sixth form in Shropshire, serving students from the age of 11-18. The secondary school, situated in Telford is administered by the Roman Catholic Diocese of Shrewsbury and the Church of England Diocese of Lichfield.
