We are seeking a Head of Modern Foreign Languages with the drive, imagination and energy to deliver excellence in the MFL department our school. You will possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students and open their eyes to the global world. Our students come from a linguistically diverse community with over 50 different languages spoken within the school. You will ensure effective teaching and learning is in place in MFL to ensure outstanding outcomes for students and increased numbers studying MFL at GCSE.

An excellent knowledge and understanding of modern foreign languages is essential. The MFL Department at North Birmingham Academy offers French and Spanish in Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9) and Spanish, French and Arabic to GCSE and A Level, as well as supporting them to undertake home language qualifications. Therefore, successful applicants will offer Spanish as a main language (to Key Stage 5) and ability to teach French to GCSE is desirable. We are looking for an excellent teacher and inspiring leader who has high aspirations for both staff and students, who is committed and passionate about providing young people with the best possible education whatever their background or ability. If you care about the success of all students, and have the energy to make that vision a reality, we would welcome your application. Leadership experience is not essential, but applicants must be able to demonstrate the skills required to lead a department.
