We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Head of Languages to join Ernulf Academy in January 2018.   

At Ernulf Academy, you can expect a supportive culture within a Trust with very high aspirations. We value our staff and there are many development opportunities within the Partnership. All teachers receive an i-pad and laptop to assist with planning and communications.

The St Neots Learning Partnership Trust consists of two schools, Longsands Academy, and Ernulf Academy who work closely together to provide the best possible learning experience for the young people of St Neots.  St Neots is a market town with good facilities, within easy reach of Cambridge and with excellent transport links to London.   

The successful candidate must be an excellent practitioner who can support and challenge all students to achieve their full potential.    

We are looking for someone to act as a role model for teaching and learning and make a distinctive contribution to the raising of students’ standards and the work of the wider team.  Our dedicated MFL team at Ernulf is committed to maximizing student potential by fostering a love of language learning and an appreciation of internationalism.  Our goal is continuous improvement.  

This position represents an excellent opportunity to become part of vibrant and innovative department.  Applicants should demonstrate a zest for language teaching and a desire to be involved in the continued success of the department and the extended opportunities offered within the St Neots Learning Partnership. This role could suit a talented NQT or experienced teacher.

Ernulf Academy is a non-denominational, mixed academy school for 11- to 16-year-olds. It is located in St Neots, and has a capacity of 1,274 students. 

Ernulf Academy is part of the St Neots Learning Partnership, which also includes another secondary school, Longsands Academy, plus the St Neots Sixth Form Centre. Many pupils wishing to continue their studies after 16 go on to the Sixth Form Centre. the schools work closely together to provide the best learning experience for the young people of St Neots.

Values and vision

The motto of Ernulf Academy is "aspire, challenge, excel". The school has high aspirations for pupils, and aims to challenge them to be the best they can be. Teachers emphasise the importance of attendance, punctuality and mutual respect.

Ernulf Academy became one of the first specialist performing arts colleges in Cambridgeshire in 2004, with a particular focus on dance, drama and music.
