Job overview
We are seeking to appoint an inspirational, creative and dynamic leader for our Modern Foreign Languages Faculty. The successful candidate will be committed to developing the curriculum offer of the faculty to ensure high quality teaching and learning and high standards and achievements for all students. The current Modern Foreign Language curriculum currently consists of teaching French to both Key Stage 3 and 4 but there is scope for development and modification to shape the curriculum to vary the languages and ensure we are meeting the needs of our students. At Breckland School we value the importance that learning an additional language plays in the lives of our students. As a Head of Modern Foreign Languages, you will be a dedicated and reflective practitioner, with expert subject knowledge, who can take responsibility for the rapid progress of the students at each key stage. You will understand the need to provide a challenging, engaging and knowledge-rich curriculum for all students.
The successful candidate will:
- Have strong leadership qualities and a commitment to excellent teaching and learning opportunities for our students
- Be passionate about languages
- Have a proven track record of success and raising student attainment in MFL
- Have the ability to deliver innovative lessons, which demonstrate high expectations of students, and inspire them to succeed, improving achievement at both Key Stages for all learners.
- Be an excellent practitioner who is willing to challenge and be challenged
We are committed to developing great teachers that are confident and effective in all aspects of their role and will offer continuous professional development opportunities for you to develop your teaching career within our school.
