About the role:

John Smeaton Academy are seeking to appoint a dynamic, enthusiastic and influential Head of MFL to lead our current department. We are looking for someone who can provide outstanding leadership or quickly develop their leadership to ensure that learning and progress in all areas to ensure student attainment in MFL.

This role may ideally suit someone who is looking to make the step into middle leadership or who is looking to build upon their current experience and success at that level. A Spanish specialist is desirable for post however the academy will also consider candidates with a French or German specialism.

We are looking for candidates who can evidence a strong track record of success and who have made a significant impact on the lives and education of the children they teach. This will need to be demonstrated in your application and be clearly evident at interview.

John Smeaton Academy is a comprehensive school serving the east of Leeds with excellent educational facilities recently built under the Government’s ‘Building School’s for the Future’ initiative. In addition to the main school building, with state of the art ICT facilities throughout, children also have access to the recently rebuilt community sports centre.
