We are looking to appoint an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Head of Modern Foreign Languages to lead and develop our foreign languages curriculum. As the Head of Modern Foreign Languages, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of a big department, with responsibility for monitoring and evaluating student achievement, as well as contributing to accomplishing the College’s vision and mission. Doha College offers a well-balanced, all-embracing curriculum. We currently offer four foreign languages: French, German, Spanish and Arabic at both iGCSE and A Level. The department also offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities including Film and Cooking Clubs as well as a vibrant mentoring programme. Educational trips to Germany and Spain as well as having a well-established exchange programme with a French partner school are also integral parts of student learning experiences.
The ideal candidate will have experience of managing and supporting a team of staff to raise standards and will also be an advanced practitioner, who sets a standard that other teachers look to emulate. The ability to teach from KS3 to A Level in German, French, Spanish or Arabic is essential.
Our classrooms are equipped with interactive smartboards used by students and staff for a range of activities. In addition to that, all students at Doha College are furnished with an iPad upon entry.
A high standard of written and spoken English is an essential requirement for all our positions.
