Job overview
This is a key role within the College and encompasses responsibility for the delivery and the development of the Music Department. The successful candidate will provide professional leadership and management of Music to secure outstanding teaching and learning, effective use of resources and enhanced standards and achievement for all pupils. The Head of Music will also contribute to College development and improvement as a key middle leader.
The pursuit of Music at Brighton College is not only an activity worthy of great dedication in its own right, but also a vitally important vehicle to nurture the creativity, passion and individuality of each and every pupil. Throughout the year, a plethora of concerts, informal recitals and musicals provide opportunities for Brighton pupils to grow as artists. Applications are invited from first rate Music practitioners who hold a relevant degree, at least two years of teaching experience and a clear understanding of teaching at Key Stage 3, (I)GCSE and BTEC. We are looking for someone who blends creativity and rigour in the classroom, is highly committed and possesses excellent organisational and communication skills.
