"Intellectually exhilarating yet principled…A real golden ticket”
The Good Schools Guide on King’s College School, Wimbledon
King’s College International School Bangkok is a King’s College School Wimbledon International School opening in August 2020, initially for boys and girls aged 2-11. We will grow over time to eventually cater for 1,500 students aged 2-18, offering IGCSEs, A levels and pathways to the world’s best universities.
We work closely with King’s Wimbledon to provide a well-structured education that aims to instil a love of learning, creativity and interdependence in our students. Our vision is to engage, inspire and extend our students. We want our alumni to be successful in their own ways. We do this with the values of kindness, good manners and wisdom in a friendly, welcoming and attractive environment.
We are looking for outstanding teachers who embody our values, can inspire students and who understand the values of a UK-style education.
We really value our teachers and we recruit the best. To help us do this, we offer an excellent package of international benefits including annual return flights, medical insurance, housing and a salary scale matched to the scale in King’s College School, Wimbledon.
From August 2020, the school wishes to appoint a well-qualified head of music to set up and run the music teaching across the early years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 initially.
Music is an essential part of King’s Bangkok curriculum as it emphasises two key skills: creativity and confidence. We aim for all of our students to participate. However, whilst fostering the spirit that everyone can participate, we wish to also provide opportunities for our more talented musicians.
We are looking for an ambitious and experienced music teacher to set a high standard of participation and performance in the first year. If you are excited about running whole-school activities to unite the school as one community; if you want all students to appreciate and participate fully whilst elite musicians receive help to improve further; and if you are a warm, positive and kind presence looking to lead assemblies, teach and provide extra-curricular opportunities across the whole age range of 2-11, we would like to hear from you.
The setting-up environment has a large number of opportunities for the right candidate as you will be involved with designing and implementing a curriculum, ordering the resources, designing house and school events and having a major input into the musical elements of the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities. We want a leader who is committed to outstanding pastoral care, who wants to take an active part in the co-curricular programme and will go above and beyond for the school community.
If you value colleagues who will support you, are excited by a start-up environment in which we all work hard for each other and have a nurturing approach to education, we would welcome you to apply for a position with us.
A completed application form with your full CV and cover letter in support of your application should be sent through the TES portal, preferably by email to email@example.com. Candidates will be longlisted through a Skype interview and then be invited to a face-to-face interview at King’s College School, Wimbledon between the 6th and 20th December 2019 or at King’s College International School Bangkok site between November 5th and December 5th. Early applications are welcome. Some interviews will be held in advance of the closing date if there is a large number of applicants.
King’s College International School Bangkok is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment.
