We are seeking to appoint a highly effective, dynamic and forward-thinking Head of Music to take responsibility for Music within our Academy. We would like someone who is enthusiastic about music to develop both the department and a culture of music excellence throughout the academy. Our Music Department is well supported with excellent accommodation and good resources.
The successful applicant will:
• Be an outstanding classroom practitioner; committed to achieving and sustaining high standards of Learning and Teaching.
• Have a rigorous and inventive approach to the delivery of Music across both KS3 and KS4
• Be enthusiastic about the subject, with the ability to inspire, develop and encourage pupils’ wider participation in the musical life of the school
• Set high standards within and beyond the department.
• Be fully responsible for the day to day running of the department, line management of staff and strategic long term planning.
• Be highly motivated and self-driven with the ability to work well with other, high achieving professionals.

Emerson Park is a successful and oversubscribed 11-16 Secondary school in the London Borough of Havering. Emerson Park Academy is a mixed comprehensive school for pupils aged 11-16 years.
Since September 1999, 192 pupils have been admitted annually, in response to parental demand. The Academy can trace its roots back to 1943 when it began life as the only Grammar School in the country to be establised during World War Two. It move to its present site in 1954 and became a comprehensive school in 1973.
Emerson Park Academy has a full complement of committed and highly qualified specialist teaching and support staff. The Academy is most fortunate to benefit from such a talented, hard-working workforce. The Academy is set in spacious and attractive groundsd overlooking the Ingrebourne Valley.
