Claremont Senior School, judged by Ofsted as ‘Outstanding’ in all areas in March 2019, seeks to appoint a dynamic and forward-thinking Head of Music to join our warm and friendly team at this vibrant and successful day and boarding school.

Claremont School is set a stone’s throw away from Bodiam Castle in the beautiful East Sussex countryside. Music is an important part of life at the School. All students take weekly class Music lessons on their arrival into Year 9 and uptake at GCSE and A Level is good. The School has a successful choir and numerous small groups and ensembles. Regular concerts are a feature of life at the school and there is a good uptake of instrumental lessons by students. In September 2019 a purpose built Music department will open as part of new Performing Arts Centre. Music plays an essential role within a buoyant and dynamic Creative faculty.

This role will suit an outstanding musician who has the appetite and ambition to build a department that is second to none in terms of the quality of its output. The successful applicant will have experience of teaching Music in a school environment and a record of working collaboratively across a range of disciplines. This is a full time position.
