Head of PE. 

Tes is currently supporting a friendly and supportive all-through Academy, based in Enfield. The school are looking to add a Head of PE to their progressive and supportive Sports Department ideally starting ASAP.

The role will include managing the delivery of PE from nursery to year group 13. You will lead your department to enhance provision and will get the chance to lead on exciting project work throughout the year. Project work may include revising schemes of work and ensuring the curriculum is engaging to all learners alongside projects that support student attainment, well-being and engagement within the wider school. However, as Head of Department, you will have full autonomy to ensure your department meets targets and exceeds the needs of our learners. You will lead by example, supporting and empowering your department’s teachers, staff and pupils to achieve to the best of their ability. The Head of Department will also line manage the PE department, supporting the SLT link and Headteacher to ensure the department achieves its maximum potential.

Founded in 2013 with one class of reception children. They are now a fully-fledged all-through school, running from nursery to year 13, with over 1700 children. Their secondary school is oversubscribed, with a waiting list for every year group. Their community is composed of supportive and committed families who buy into our vision and work with us to ensure their children achieve all they are capable of in the future.

They aspire for all their children to have the academic knowledge necessary to enable them to progress to university, for pupils to have a love of learning and curiosity about the world, and for them to be polite, well-mannered young people who take responsibility for their choices and drive their own destinies."

The school expects:

• A UK teaching qualification such as PGCE/PGDE, SCITT, BEd or MEd with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• a relevant Physical Education Degree or a related subject

• experience in delivering PE up to GCSE pushing and engaging learners to progress within the subject

• experience managing a department: specifically people and financial management

• a love and passion for education.
