Job overview

Fowey River Academy and the Leading Edge Academies Partnership are seeking to appoint an inspiring and enthusiastic Head of Faculty to work closely with the Music and Drama teams in supporting the faculty in the next stage of their development.

This role will provide the opportunity to lead and promote the Performing Arts in a setting which will offer world-class facilities due to the multi-million pound funding we have just secured. We have growing links with the local community and the post would seek to extend these and work with the numerous cultural events taking place in this beautiful part of the county.

Such an opportunity requires an enthusiastic, dedicated professional determined to promote the Performing Arts and to support our young people in this essential stage of their lives.

Fowey River Academy is evolving fast and we aim to be the school of choice in the local area. We would like this new colleague to be an integral and active participant in the exciting future Fowey River Academy now holds in its hands.

We are Fowey River Academy

We are …ready. We are …ambitious. We are… taking back control. We are ….making history.

We want…. go getters. We want… maker creators. We want…deep thinkers. We want high flyers.

The Himalayas do not come without altitude sickness, nor Hong Kong without the sensory overload. The world is a melting pot of experiences and meaningful moments that can help to define any individual. We are Fowey River Academy, and with connections to over 30 countries and counting, there are no limits to how far we can go. Coming?

The extent of this leadership role within the Performing Arts Faculty will be negotiated with the successful candidate and the salary will be commensurate with the agreed role and the successful candidate’s experience. They will be an outstanding classroom practitioner, who is able to drive continuous improvement in teaching and learning, raising standards and ensuring pupil achievement and engagement are maximised. Coaching colleagues in developing their practice will be an important aspect of the role; we seek a leader who has the ability to foster a lively and enthusiastic atmosphere within the department for both students and staff.
