To begin in August 2020, we are looking for an exceptional Head of Primary Physical Education to take responsibility for leading the teaching and learning in an outstanding PE Department. Reporting to the Head of Primary and whole school Director of Sport, the Head of Primary Physical Education will demonstrate an experienced,  dynamic and creative approach to leading teaching and learning within the department. Our PE Department is very well established and highly successful; it enjoys excellent success both locally and internationally. 

Suitable candidates for this post will:

Hold a good Honours Degree.

Hold a UK-recognised teaching qualification (PGCE or similar). 

Be an inspirational leader of Physical Education with experience and excellent knowledge of teaching and leading across the Primary age-range 

Be able to demonstrate their understanding and commitment to Positive Education

Have an ambitious approach to leading Physical Education which ensures high standards in all areas of Primary Physical Education

Understand the importance of, and balance between, competitive sport and widening participation

Be able to demonstrate what constitutes outstanding practice in Physical Education and have the ability to be able to develop this in others

Want to play an active role in the co-curricular life of a busy international school. 

Possess the ambition, enthusiasm and can-do attitude to want to play a key role in shaping and developing an outstanding school

The closing date for applications is 3.00 pm on the 25th November 2019. Long list/ initial Skype interviews will be held between the 25/11/19- 2/12/19. Final interviews for UK-based candidates will be held in the UK, week beginning 6th January 2020. Internationally-based candidates’ final interviews will take place via Skype or in person depending on the candidates’ location.  Early applications are strongly encouraged (we reserve the right to appoint early).
