Rainbow International School, Kampala is a 2 – 18 co educational day and boarding school serving a mixture of expatriate and Ugandan families based in Kampala, wider Uganda and the East African region.

Rainbow is a well established International School following the British curriculum and is an associate member of COBIS – the Council of British International Schools. The school is committed to be a fully accredited and inspected by the Independent Schools Inspectorate. The School follows the English KS 3 curriculum and Cambridge I.G.C.S.E / A Level programmes. For the 2016/17 academic year we will add the BTEC curriculum in partnership with PEARSON at Level 2 providing the youth of Kampala and Uganda with an alternative pathway to further education. The 2016/17 academic year will be an exciting one for the P.E department, with the introduction of A Level P.E and also BTEC Level 2 P.E.

The Secondary Headteacher, Mr Jason Lewis seeks to appoint a well qualified, enthusiastic and motivated individual to lead our Physical Education department. This role is suitable for a newly qualified teacher who has the skills to lead a department or a candidate with experience of teaching who would now like to step into heading a department.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the largest and most successful International School in Uganda. We seek an ambitious, dedicated and motivated individual to join our PE department. With a student population that consists of over 60 different nationalities, we offer an exciting and diverse workplace. The staffroom provides a supportive and happy environment. Knowledge, understanding and teaching experience of the English GCSE/ A Level (in the United Kingdom) or Cambridge International Syllabus (IGCSE/ A Level) is essential for this post. Applicants with experience of teaching in the United Kingdom or International are welcome to apply.

Uganda is a beautiful country that has a history of stability. The people are warm and friendly and the opportunity for extensive travel within Uganda and the East African region is vast. Kampala is a vibrant city with an array of restaurants, bars, coffee shops and shopping centers. Between 2 and 8 hours drive from Kampala you can experience the source of the Nile, cross the equator, visit various game parks with the ‘big 5’ animals and encounters with the famous mountain gorillas in the west.

In return, we will give you a two year renewable contract, a competitive salary, rent free accommodation with basic furnishing, a generous medical package, flights at the beginning and end of contract and access to the local pension scheme. These benefits only apply to the employee. Spouses, partners and dependents are not covered by the school.
