Hutchesons' Grammar School have an exciting new opportunity for an outstanding teacher to join us as Head of Physics from August 2019.
We seek a highly qualified, perceptive and enthusiastic Physics graduate to lead this very successful department into the next decade. The successful candidate will have a proven record of success in teaching Physics, very high academic standards, a demonstrable knowledge and understanding of the issues facing Physics teaching in Scotland as well as a wider perspective on developments in Science education further afield.
The successful candidate will have a clear vision for the development of the department and the communication skills to articulate that vision. They will have the interpersonal skills to engage and inspire pupils and colleagues with a love of the subject and the desire to explore it further. They will have the credibility and sensitivity to support pupils of all abilities and inspire the confidence of parents. They will understand the challenges of leading a team of experienced colleagues and inducting new colleagues, delegating effectively and appropriately.
