Job overview

We require an enthusiastic and committed Head of Physics who will work within a supportive and highly successful Science faculty.

As a key member of the team, you will be expected to teach all sciences across KS3, KS4 and Physics to AS/A2. You must have a passion for teaching and learning in Science together with the ability to inspire and motivate our students. You will also have the skills and personal qualities needed to lead the physics department and work as part of a team of TLR holders within the Science faculty. In this role you will work under the guidance of the Head of Faculty.

The faculty is very committed to offering our students a range of extracurricular activities and opportunities to engage with employers and STEM organisation; as such, the successful candidate will be expected to lead a number of these activities and contribute to the continuing development of Science, particularly physics, throughout the school.

It is intended that the role would be based at Arnold Hill Academy but the diversity of academies within the Group will provide fantastic opportunities for teachers to develop their practice and skills.

As part of the Trent Academies Group, we work across the group to support and share good practice with likeminded colleagues. Our aim is to make sure everyone is given the chance to shine brightly, maximising academic achievement and personal growth.
