Job overview

This is a part time position at 0.7 FTE.

Lincoln Minster School is part of United Learning, a large and growing group of schools aiming to offer a life changing education to children and young people across England. Schools within United Learning work as a team and achieve more by sharing than any single school could. By collecting expertise and combining resources, we help to make the tough job of teaching a little easier. With a shared curriculum and lesson plans from around the group available to all, our teachers have strong foundations to lead the engaging, rounded education our children deserve. Our intranet site, United Hub, is just one example of how we share this resource and communicate across sites, helping to simplify processes and manage workloads for an improved work-life balance. We reward our staff: with wide career opportunities – between Primary and Secondary, Academy and Independent – better pay, benefits, and ultimately the satisfaction of helping every child at each of our schools to succeed and reach their full potential.

Lincoln Minster School is an independent, co-educational day and boarding school for students aged 2 to 18. The school is set in the heart of Lincoln’s historic Cathedral quarter. Our Preparatory School has just been listed in the Sunday Times Top 100 Prep Schools for the second consecutive year.

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Head of Music in our Preparatory School. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, energetic and well-motivated Music specialist to join our thriving school from February 2018.

The successful candidate will lead and teach Music throughout the Preparatory School, from EYFS to Year 6, and will be required to be fully involved in the co-curricular programme for the Music department and the school. The ability to teach piano is essential and to teach another subject an advantage.

Lincoln Minster School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and the successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced disclosure through the Disclosure and Barring Service.

For further information, please contact Sandra Dobbs, PA to the Head of the Preparatory School, on 01522 243003.

About Lincoln Minster School - Preparatory School

Lincoln Minster School was formed in 1996 through a merger of the Cathedral School for Boys; St Joseph's School for Girls and Stonefield House School.  As part of the United Church Schools Trust (UCST), it has grown and developed to provide an excellent education for 820 pupils across three sites.

The Pre-Prep, Prep and Senior School sites are all situated in Lincoln's historic Cathedral Quarter, within a stone's throw of the Cathedral, Castle, Bailgate and the appropriately named Steep Hill. This area is scattered with Roman remains and cobbled streets, and is well known for its independent shops, range of eateries and quality of life.
