 Aldar Academies are currently seeking an inspirational school leader to be our new Head of Primary at Al Yasmina Academy in Abu Dhabi commencing September 2019, or earlier by negotiation. 

Al Yasmina Academy is a high performing school delivering the English National Curriculum from EYFS through to A Level. The internationally diverse school of over 1600 students has a strong research basis upon which it builds its school improvement strategy and curriculum. It is a Microsoft Showcase School and judged Outstanding by BSO (British Schools Overseas).

The successful candidate will combine an excellent track record of successful leadership experience, developed in the UK or internationally, with strong inter-personal skills and cultural awareness with the ability to inspire the Al Yasmina community and manage the demands and needs of all stakeholders. Exceptional communication skills combined with being a visible leader and ambassador for the school are central to this role. The role requires strategic thinking with a firm grasp of how to ensure outstanding teaching and learning across all phases of the school. Candidates must be committed to working in partnership with the local community and developing ways to engage with parents and forge effective partnerships with them. 

The successful candidate will be closely aligned with the core values and ethos of Aldar Academies and Al Yasmina Academy and possess a genuine understanding and appreciation of the values of the region. 

Main Responsibilities

• To effectively lead and manage the strategic and operational aspects of the primary school’s pastoral and academic provision. In doing so to oversee, implement and manage systems, policies, procedures, resources to ensure the highest standard of academic and pastoral provision for students and families;

• To work as a collaborative member of the senior leadership team, in order to maximise learning opportunities for all children;

• To monitor and evaluate the performance and standards of the primary section, including curriculum provision, assessment, and the quality of teaching and learning;

• To maintain an environment of collaboration and support that promotes outstanding teaching, learning, behavior and high achievement. 

Requirements:

BA in Education or BA Degree with PGCE is essential

NPQH or Master’s in Education preferred but not necessary

Ability to establish positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders, including the Board and Strategic Governance Group is essential

Ability to understand the operational and financial requirements to manage a successful school is essential
