About the role

After 8 years of dedicated service our current Head of Primary is returning to the UK.

We are looking for an experienced and passionate leader to lead the Primary School Team through the next stage of our development. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of British education and Project based learning as well as the creativity, motivation, communication skills and adaptability to make a significant impact in our students’ varying learning and social needs. The candidate should have knowledge and experience of Virtual school Provision and have excellent Technology skills.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with outstanding leadership skills to join ourteam and help build on our success over the last few years.

The successful candidate should have excellent communication, organisational and classroom management skills meet deadlines and work well under pressure. A genuine interest in the all-round welfare of students, parents and staff is essential as is being able to work independently and as a member of a team.

About you (see full Job description)

Able to adapt quickly to our fast-paced international environment, you will need a relevant degree, a recognised teaching qualification (PGCE/NQT) and leadership experience preferably in an International School setting.

Committed and creative, you will be reflective on your own practice, seeking out and implementing new ideas and innovative practice to raise achievement.

Keen to collaborate and share your specialist expertise, you will be a fittingambassador for the school. You will communicate with confidence across diverse audiences and situations, using your expertise to build strong relationships with parents and students.

Selection Process

The closing date for applications is October 15 2020.

Initial long listed interviews will be conducted by Skype and follow-up face to face interviews for shortlisted candidates will hopefully take place at the school (alternative arrangements will be made for candidates who cannot attend in person).

About The British International School, Bratislava

The British International School Bratislava is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational all-through independent school with sixth form in Slovakia, serving students from the age of 2-18. The all-through school is situated in Bratislava. 

The British International School Bratislava opened in 1997 and welcomes students from over 42 nationalities every year. Students follow an international curriculum, studying towards IGCSE exams and later an International Baccalaureate Diploma. Facilities include a dance studio, gym, a theatre, science laboratories, outdoor play areas and sports courts. Pupils are taught in English and offered Slovak language lessons.
