The School                  

Now in its 5th year of operation, the GEMS Cambridge International School Nairobi, offers the National Curriculum for England through the University of Cambridge Primary and Secondary programmes, including the IGCSE and Advanced Level examinations as well as EdExcel BTEC vocational qualifications. It is a co-educational school for students from pre-Foundation Stage to Year 13.

The school, located in a very pleasant and secure residential area of Karen; a suburb of the thriving city of Nairobi, boasts a spacious, state-of-the-art campus with well-equipped teaching facilities incorporating a 400 seat auditorium, dance studio, science and computer labs, as well as, extensive sports facilities, including a specialist running track, full size astro-turf pitch, indoor sports hall, fully equipped gym and an 8 lane heated swimming pool. The school also boasts a wonderful Boarding House.

The Post

We are looking to appoint an experienced Head of Primary in August 2017. The post holder will develop provision in the Primary section and lead on all day-to-day operational decisions in respect of its organisation. There are currently 138 students with expectations that these numbers will rise further.

To be considered for the post, you should already have senior leadership experience within a vibrant and diverse school and be ready to take on the next challenging stage of your career. The successful candidate will have highly developed inter-personal skills, charisma and the educational philosophy to drive high standards across the section and to make a significant contribution to the whole school’s success going forward. Exceptional communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide and inspire colleagues and students alike, are necessary qualities for the role. Naturally, a willingness to play a full and active part in the extra-curricular life of the school is also essential.

The post offers an excellent remuneration package to the successful candidate, including a highly competitive salary, comprehensive medical insurance and annual flight allowance.
