Hurtwood House Shanghai is seeking to appoint a highly skilled and passionate Head of PE for the primary school. The successful candidates will be joining one of the most exciting educational projects of our time– namely the education of Chinese nationals in a bilingual context. The successful candidate will have:
A subject relevant degree from an established university (required)
PGCE/QTS or equivalent (required)
2 or more years of full time, school based, teaching experience (required)
Excellent working knowledge of curricula for P.E. (required) – English National Curriculum preferred
Experience of working with children of various ages P.E. (required)
Experience of working with children who have English as an additional language (desirable)
Experience of working in the independent sector (desirable)
Extra-curricular activities are the lifeblood of any serious school and it an expectation that the Head of PE will dedicate time to teams, clubs and training after school, lunchtimes and on the weekends, including organising residential trips for students. Sports Day organisation is also an important part of this position.
