Cury School is a new primary school catering to students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Cury school is situated in a beautiful and inspiring part of Cornwall and is a satellite provision of Nancealverne School in Penzance. We pride ourselves on providing tailored support and education to empower our students to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.

Role Overview:

We are seeking to appoint a dynamic, innovative and experienced practitioner to shape, develop and to lead our dedicated team at Cury School. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management and overall success of the provision, ensuring that every student receives the highest quality of education and support.

The Head of Provision will provide visionary leadership to ensure the delivery of high-quality education and holistic support tailored to meet the diverse needs of students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. This position requires a strong commitment to inclusion, empathy, and the ability to create a nurturing and supportive learning environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide visionary leadership to the staff team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to drive the provision forward, in alignment with the ethos and values of Nancealverne School.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the provision, including staffing, budget management, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead by example in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels valued, supported, and encouraged to reach their full potential.
  • Establish strong partnerships with parents, carers, external agencies, and the wider community to enhance the educational experience and outcomes for our students.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of provision, using data and evidence-based practice to inform decision-making and drive improvements.

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant postgraduate qualifications.
  • Substantial experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs, ideally within a primary school setting.
  • Proven leadership experience, with the ability to inspire and motivate a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and strategic planning abilities, with a track record of delivering results and driving positive change.
