The post will be paid at RA7 rising incrementally, subject to satisfactory annual review, to RA9 (£5,292-£6,804 per annum). For example, a Teacher at the top of the teaching scale (Point 9) will initially be awarded seven responsibility points (RA7), making a salary of £44,621; this would rise by annual increments to £46,133 (RA9). Appointment to points (1-9) on the teaching scale is dependent on experience.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead the College’s popular Psychology department in its provision of A Level Psychology to over 450 students. The department has a strong track record in delivering excellent academic results in the delivery of A Level Psychology, as well as providing an engaging programme of outside speakers and field trips. The successful candidate will be a passionate advocate of teaching and learning with the ability to lead and inspire students and staff alike. Organised, driven and open to new ideas and ways of working, the successful candidate may be an existing Head of Department looking for a more extensive challenge or an established Psychology teacher looking to take the next step in their career.
